Any community driven and/or developed project, event or tutorial in the IOTA Ecosystem. For projects this could be open-source libraries or other code repositories, new business or application ideas, educational resources or media, etc. related to the IOTA core technology. For events, this could be hackathons, meetups, presentations or speaker panels, ideation workshops, etc. where IOTA is a key focus. And for tutorials, any instructions or resources which help educate people on how to use community developed resources and applications.
Note: Tutorials for IOTA Foundation developed and maintained resources and libraries, such as the IOTA Reference Implementation libraries, the IOTA Foundation developed wallet, or second layer modules such as Flash, MAM, etc. will be developed and maintained on docs.iota.org to ensure a single source of truth for the IOTA core technology.
An Ecosystem Developer is a member of the community who is active in the development of projects and tutorials. The content created by these developers aids to enrich the wider community through providing resources to follow and gather inspiration from.
The projects, tutorials, events and Ecosystem Developers which will be featured on the main page are those which are the most impressive, useful or inspiring. To start, this will be managed by the IOTA Foundation to ensure quality and make sure the IOTA Ecosystem gets off on the right foot. In the future, we will start to integrate more and more features of the IOTA Ecosystem into the Tangle to ensure proper community governance and transparency.
To gain the title of Ecosystem Developer you must apply to the Ecosystem website. You must provide your profile with your recent projects and tutorials for consideration. Developers that get approved have been shown to provide the community with high quality projects and tutorials to follow.
Those that aren’t accepted first try can come back at a later time when they have developed more projects or content.
